Yu Dichi Department holds a solo exhibition of Lee Sang-gu
Oct 07, 2024
Yudichu's invitation exhibition 'One day, I suddenly look at the sky...' will be held at UD Gallery in Seocho-gu until the 23rd of this month.
Artist Lee Sang-gu, who draws a landscape full of electric poles and margins, expresses his hope that the viewer's mind will also be relaxed by simplifying the tangled wires and complex backgrounds in this exhibition.
Lee Sang-gu looked up by chance more than 20 years ago and saw the wires of the telephone poles intricately intertwined with the scenery in the sky, and I thought it was the same as the artist at that time. The artist's work on the electric pole began with the hope of solving the intricately mixed lines and putting down the thoughts filled in his head.
Artist Lee Sang-gu, who paints on the back of Asacheon Stream on canvas, naturally writes the space of his work due to the warm attraction given by the color itself on the back of Asacheon Stream. Author Lee Sang-gu said, "I hope that the scenery of the sky that I accidentally looked up and looked up will become a comma in my life, just like the title of "One Day, I suddenly look at the sky"."
Lee Sang-gu, the current general director of the Yangpyeong Arts Association, is holding this solo exhibition. He represents Du & Du Gallery and has participated in more than 80 art fairs, including 15 individual exhibitions, 320 invitations/group exhibitions, and the Busan International Hwwarang Art Fair, Seoul Art Show, Art Gwangju, and Gyeongju Art Fair.
On the other hand, UD Gallery is an independent art gallery of UDIT (Gangnam Bang YDIT) and is welcomed as a cultural space where patients can fully utilize their boring waiting time. It is also conducting a cultural and social contribution project that provides artists with exhibition spaces by holding regular art exhibitions and provides opportunities to showcase various works.
