A new theory has emerged about a dozen severed right hands found in ancient Egyptian tombs that are about 3,500 years old.

According to The Sun and other foreign media, archaeologists have presented the findings of a 'cut right hand' excavated from ancient Egypt's Hixos Palace.

The researchers estimated that Egyptian fighters cut their hands off the enemies and offered them to the pharaohs.

These 12 right hands were found to have been cut very carefully with no signs of rough amputation.

French anthropologist Dr. Isabel Crevecoure "Detailly cut. What they would have done for the ceremony.'

In addition, the severed hands were stretched wide and placed toward the floor, with 11 male hands and one female.

The minimum age at which the hand was amputated was between the ages of 14 and 21, and the oldest was estimated to be under 60.

As to whether the hand was alive when the hand was cut off, scholars said "would have been alive".

The researchers explained that "the severed hand must have just been cut off for it to be spread out widely.'
