A sailor in his 20s who fell into the sea from a cargo ship in operation survived by swimming for 19 hours.

According to British media Daily Mail and Australian media Nine News, a man in his 20s was seen swimming off the coast of Newcastle, Australia, about 5 kilometers from land, at around 6 p.m. on the 8th (local time).

Luckily, one of the fishermen was a doctor.




Glenn Valer, a doctor, said "A friend told me 'Someone's in the water'"It was a miracle to save a man."." Glenn explained "He was very cold, his pulse weak, his face pale, exhausted, having been lifted to our stomach."

The paramedics who took him over from the coast were taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to an investigation by the maritime police, the Vietnamese national fell to the sea from a Singapore-registered bulk carrier located off Newcastle at around 11:30 p.m. on the 7th the previous day. He was wearing a life jacket and carried a plastic bag containing his ID, wallet and a pack of cigarettes.




As a result, police are investigating whether he intentionally jumped into the sea or accidentally fell out.
