A car funeral that families used to ride in India is a hot topic.

According to local media, including Jagran News, Sanjay Polara, a farmer in Amreli, Gujarat, India, and his family held a funeral for an old car on their farm on the 7th (local time).

The family decided to open the store 12 years ago when a used compact car purchased could no longer be operated.

Selling it to a junkyard allowed him to get some money, but Sanjay didn't want to dump the car that brought good luck to his family.

The family decided to invite 1,500 residents to hold a grand funeral. It cost 400,000 rupees (about 6.7 million won).

An excavator dug deep and placed a car under it, sprinkled flowers and prayed in a Hindu ceremony.

Afterwards, the funeral was over by covering the soil and making a tomb.

Sanjay "Happiness and prosperity came to the house after buying the car 12 years ago. The business was successful and everything went well for the family, he said. "I'm sad to say goodbye to the car."

He plans to plant a tree on his car grave in the future. We want to make sure future generations can rest in the shadow of lucky cars, he said.
