According to The Sun and other foreign media, on the 20th (local time), Norway's Tröndelag court sentenced Arne Bai, 55, an obstetrician who shook Norway in a sexual abuse scandal, to 21 years in prison.
He was accused of sexually harassing or sexually assaulting 87 female patients aged 14 to 67 for 20 years. It also turned out that they filmed it.
Police seized a small camera installed in his clinic and more than 6,000 hours of video footage.
He was found to have inserted a cylindrical object that looked like a bottle into the patients' genitals without medical reasons or explanations.
One victim testified that `he touched his genital during the examination as if he was massaging it.' Another woman claimed "I felt pain and fear that I could die."
The court lamented while watching the video submitted by the prosecution as evidence. The video also showed the defendant installing the camera himself.
The defendant and his attorney protested that `we recorded it for fear of future lawsuits due to medical treatment and did not watch the video.'
However, he admitted some allegations of sexual assault.
The court pleaded guilty to three counts of rape and 35 counts of abuse of status and sentenced him to up to 21 years in prison.
