A Chinese company has introduced cash incentives to encourage single employees to date.

According to Hong Kong media South China Morning Post, a camera company headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China, has created a 'date bonus system' to increase employees' sense of belonging and personal happiness.

The company promised to pay 66 yuan (about 13,000 won) to the author if he posted an article introducing single men and women in the company on an online dating platform.

In addition, if a single employee successfully matches an outsider on this platform and maintains a relationship for three months, the company will pay 1000 yuan (about 190,000 won) as a bonus to employees and introductory writers.

An employee said about 500 posts had been posted online by Nov. 11.

Accordingly, the company paid a total of about 10,000 yuan as a prize to the employees who wrote the post.

However, it has been less than three months since the campaign began, so the dating bonus has not yet been paid.

A company official said "It aims to improve employees' sense of belonging and overall well-being."

One employee said "The company is more eager than my mom."

Netizens are asking "What is the company's recruitment plan?", "The government should introduce this.", Comments such as "I think employees will be very satisfied" and "Love should not be measured by money" were posted.

According to recent data from Chinese authorities, 4.74 million couples registered their marriages in the third quarter of 2024, down 16.6% from 5.69 million couples in the same period last year.

China's fertility rate also hit a record low last year, falling from 6.77 per 1,000 people in 2022 to 6.39 in 2023.
