A video of a woman spraying a white powder believed to be an remains was released at Machu Picchu, an Inca site in Peru that is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

According to foreign media such as NewsCom, Peruvian travel agency Ingcar Expeditions recently posted the video on the social video platform 'TikTok'. It has not been confirmed whether the powder is the remains, but majestic background music and hashtags such as the title of the video 'Division in Machu Picchu' and 'Cremated Remains' have led to the presumption that it is the actual ashes.

Also, the video ends with the woman bending her head down and hugging someone else.




When the video was released, criticism poured out online.

Netizens should be punished vigorouslyThe local cultural and tourism authorities complained, calling for an investigation, saying that spraying ashes in Machu Picchu is a violation of the law.

In the wake of the controversy, the travel agency deleted the video.
