Ewha University Aortic Vascular Hospital, Aortic International Education and Training Center Opportunity to Jump to a World-class Hospital

Ewha Aortic Vascular Hospital (Hospital Director Song Seok-won) has obtained the Asia-Pacific Aortic Care Training Center of Excellence status in the field of aortic dissection and aortic aneurysm surgery using the global aortic medical device 'E-Vita OPEN NEO'.
Ewha University Aortic Vascular Hospital held an agreement ceremony and a signboard ceremony for the designation of the Aortic International Education and Training Center in the conference room of Lee Hak-hye on the 7th floor of Ewha Womans University Seoul Hospital (Hospital Director Joo-woong) on the 12th.
The agreement was signed by Joo Woong, head of Ewha Womans University Seoul Hospital, Song Seok-won, head of Ewha Aortic Vascular Hospital, Pat Mackin, global CEO of Ativion, Shamik Dasgupta, vice president of Asia-Pacific region, and Choi Yoon-kyu, CEO of Life Science Korea, and medical staff from Australia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam, and India.
Under the agreement, Ewha University Aortic Vascular Hospital will provide specialized training on aortic disease surgery for domestic and foreign medical staff, including the Asia-Pacific region, and both Artivion and Life Sciences will provide necessary support for education and training operations.
Since its opening in June 2023, Ewha Aortic Vascular Hospital has operated an original aortic treatment system called EXPRESS (Ewha Xtraordinary Precision Safe AORTIC Surgery) to achieve 1,000 successful aortic surgeries in the shortest period of one year and three months. In particular, Song Seok-won, head of Ewha Womans University's Aortic Vascular Hospital, has successfully performed a total of 293 operations so far since he performed the first hybrid aortic surgery using E-Vita OPEN NEO in Korea in 2021, and has been listed as a cardiovascular thoracic surgeon who has performed the most operations in the world.
