Two Uzbek patients who underwent knee artificial joint surgery through Himchan Hospital's global medical social contribution activity, 「Power Sharing Medical」, left their home country healthy on the 21st.
Powerful Sharing Medical is a global medical social contribution activity recommended by Bukhara State, Uzbekistan, in which Korea's Himchan Hospital or Bukhara Himchan Hospital supports detailed examination and surgery for economically difficult Uzbek patients to regain joint and spinal health.
Patulaeva Mohira Mahmudova (female, 68) and Ochilova Jamila Rahmatovna (female, 55) recommended by Bukhara State for surgery this time. They entered the country on October 28 and underwent robotic knee artificial joint surgery on the 29th, the next day after various thorough inspections at the Incheon Himchan General Hospital of the Sangwon Medical Foundation.
After successful surgery, the two recovered their health after about three weeks of postoperative recovery management and systematic rehabilitation, and then discharged on the 21st and returned to their home country. Himchan Hospital will also make efforts to follow-up management so that they can receive constant rehabilitation treatment at Bukhara Himchan Hospital even after returning home.
Patulaeva Mohira Mahmudova, who underwent artificial joint surgery on both robots' knees, was diagnosed with disability due to her uncomfortable legs and raised three children alone after her husband's death. I was delighted beyond words to hear the miraculous news that I could get free surgery in Korea. It was difficult to go out with my family due to the severe pain, but I really want to go to the pilgrimage that I dreamed of all my life with my healthy two legs. I would like to thank Vice President Choi Moon-ki and nurses for operating at Himchan Hospital", he expressed his feelings.
Ochilova Jamila Rahmatovna, who underwent artificial joint surgery on the left robot knee, also said, `My husband is disabled, and I also cannot work because my legs are uncomfortable, so I cry because I am grateful for helping in a very difficult financial situation. "I had surgery on my left knee in Uzbekistan in the past, but there was no improvement, but after surgery in Korea this time, I don't have any swelling and I think the surgery results are better." In particular, through a letter written in person "When I was a child, I had polio and my right leg was uncomfortable, so I always hobbled around. I don't know how grateful I am that Kim Bong-ok, the head of the hospital, even matched orthopedic shoes with special insoles on his right foot. "I repeatedly thanked the medical staff.
Vice President Choi Moon-ki, who led the patients, said "It is rewarding and proud that patients who could not walk well due to discomfort in their legs smiled brightly and thanked them for the good results of the surgery. We will communicate with the medical staff of Bukhara Himchan Hospital and pay attention to ensure that the two of you can continue to receive rehabilitation treatment even when they return to their home country."
Park Hye-young, chairman of Himchan Hospital of the Sangwon Medical Foundation, began 'Power Sharing Medicine' in earnest with the opening of Bukhara Himchan Hospital in Uzbekistan in 2019 to take the lead in practicing humanity through " medicine. So far, 15 Uzbek patients have undergone surgery and recovered their health, and we plan to continue sharing activities in the future."
On the other hand, this 'Himchan Sharing Medical Center' was selected as a participating hospital in the '2024 Incheon Sharing Medical Project' organized by Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Tourism Organization.
