A female singer from the United States was shot in the chest at a signing event after the concert.

Urgent transfer, she is being treated at a hospital and is not known to be life-threatening.

According to Newsweek and other foreign media, soul singer Jada Anel Thomas (26), who performed at the Black Academy of Arts and Literature Theater in Dallas at around 6 p.m. on the 2nd (local time), was shot and collapsed by a woman during a fan signing.

Police arrested fugitive gunman Micah Williams, 26, at a nearby hotel.

An event official said "People were waiting in line to get autographs when they suddenly heard gunshots."

Some claimed that the suspect was a singer who had performed at the same venue 10 years ago.

However, police have yet to comment on the motive of the crime or the relationship between the shooter and the surviving victim.

Jada's family and fans wish her well and are calling for a thorough investigation into the suspect.

Micah, the criminal, was transferred to the Dallas County Jail on charges of aggravated assault using a deadly weapon, and bail was set at $200,000 (about 280 million won).
