Hallym University Medical Center 'Wirun Wiro' Donates to the Treatment of Burn Patients and Firefighters

Hallym University Medical Center (Director of Medical Center Kim Yong-sun) donated the entire fundraising amount of the virtual event "WeRunWero" to the treatment support project for burn patients and firefighters.
Hallim University Medical Center held a donation delivery ceremony at Hallim University Hangang Sungsim Hospital in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the 26th and donated 30.1 million won to the Hallim Burn Foundation. Yoon Hee-sung, chairman of Ilsong Academy, chairman of the school corporation, Heo Jun, chairman of the Hallim Burn Foundation (director of Hanlim University Hangang Sungsim Hospital), Park Sung-jin, director of planning and coordination at Hallim University Medical Center, Dan Hyun-seok, director of strategic planning at Hallim University Medical Center, and Ohda-jung, CEO of Adector attended the delivery ceremony.
The donation delivered on this day will be used for various support, including medical and nursing expenses for burn patients, treatment expenses for firefighters who suffer trauma in fire suppression and emergency rescue situations, and psychological treatment programs. In particular, the support of the 「Firefighter Trauma 119 Academy" developed by the Department of Psychiatry and the Hallim Burn Foundation of Hanlim University Kang Sungsim Hospital in 2022 will provide practical help to firefighters living with pain and trauma at the fire site.
Werenwu is a healthy donation event that practices social responsibility and shares helping hands through non-face-to-face running. The 4th anniversary of this year, Werenwiro, was held in a non-face-to-face format across the country from October 21 to November 17. 1,000 participants, including the general public, faculty and family members of Hallym University Medical Center, chose the course they wanted from 3km, 5km, and 10km and shared authentication photos and messages of support on social media to spread the value of sharing.
The Werenwu campaign, which was first held in 2021, is receiving great attention every year due to the voluntary participation and sponsorship of participants. Until the 4th round, 4,390 people participated, and local government offices such as Anyang City Council and Anyang Fire Station have been actively participating. On social media, about 600 hashtag posts are shared over WeRun, contributing to a healthy donation culture. In particular, the fourth round of this year was closed early for the first time since the event was held, recruiting 1,000 participants within 12 days of the start of application.
Chairman Yoon Hee-sung said, `I hope that the warm hearts of those who have been with us will be comforting and encouraging to the suffering burn patients and firefighters.' `Hallim University Medical Center will continue to contribute to creating a better society through ESG activities such as Weren Wiro.' Meanwhile, the Werenwu campaign, which contributes the full amount of money raised every year, has so far achieved a cumulative donation of about 130 million won, which has been used to treat neighbors, burn patients, and firefighters in need of the full amount. In the first year, a total of 4.152 million won was donated to the Hallim Burn Foundation, Sangnok Nursery Center, and welfare centers under Hallim University Medical Center to support the independence and livelihood of low-income children and adolescents. In the second round, 30.13 million won was provided for trauma care for 30 firefighters who suffered physical and mental damage during the fire suppression process, and in the third round, 30.15 million won was provided for treatment of burn patients, medical expenses for firefighters, and recovery of psychological emotions.
