Lumeisa Geligo, 27, from Turkiye, is the world's tallest woman at about 215.16 cm, and Jyoti Amge, 30, from India, is the world's shortest woman at about 62.8 cm.
According to foreign media such as the BBC and the Mirror, the two met in London on the 20th (local time) to celebrate Guinness World Records Day in 2024.
Lumeisa currently works as a web developer and suffers from a rare condition called 'Weaver Syndrome'.
This is a condition that accelerates growth and causes skeletal abnormalities, making it the 27th patient diagnosed worldwide so far and the first in Turkey. She uses a wheelchair and can only stand on her walker for a short time.
Jyoti works as an actor and suffers from "Achondroplasia".
This disease is a genetic disorder in bone growth. Intellectual and reproductive abilities are normal, and the final height of adults is known to be 125 to 135 cm. The limbs are short and the stomach and buttocks often pop out. There are also features of a large head and protruding forehead.
It was difficult for the two to look into their eyes and talk because of the height difference. But both were very interested in health and beauty, so the conversation worked well.'
Lumeisa says "We both love makeup, self-care, and manicures" and Jyoti is used to looking up at people taller than me, but today I was so happy to look up and see the tallest woman in the world. She has such a good personality and was very comfortable to talk to," he said.
