'Hemohim's Past, Present, and Future'Korea Holistic Care Association, Kolmar B&H Holds Academic Forum

Hemohim, developed by the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, is a health functional food that can help improve immune function and fatigue produced and researched by Colmar B&H, the No. 1 research institute, and distributed by Atomy, a global direct sales company. As of 2021, it recorded the largest exports as a single domestic health functional food item and is sold to 23 countries around the world. It has exceeded more than 300 billion won in annual sales and accumulated sales of 2 trillion won, both at home and abroad.
The forum, which was held at The Great Hall at Chosun Palace on November 20, was designed to explore the background of Hemoheem's birth, its value as the first individually recognized immune function-improving health functional food, and a new future for Hemoheem. Starting with congratulatory remarks by Han Sang-bae, president of the Korea Food Safety and Management Agency, and Lee Jong-won, vice chairman of the Korea Health Functional Food Association, Dr. Cho Sung-ki (former researcher at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, honorary chairman of Holistic Care), Song Wook, a professor at Seoul National University, Shin Kwang-soon, a professor at Kyunggi University, and Kang Jin-han, a professor at Catholic Medical School, were the presenters. In addition, the developers who developed Hemoheem at the time, officials from Hemoheem's R&D project, Yoon Yeo-won, CEO of Kolmar B&H, and Yoon Yong-soon, vice president of distributor Atomy, attended the event.
Hemohim's main ingredient, 'Hemohim Dangi, etc.' became a double functional raw material after being recognized by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for its function in improving fatigue for the first time after improving immune function. In addition, Kolmar B&H has been striving to expand intellectual property rights by publishing papers and patent registration on gastric health, liver health, muscle strength improvement, and cognitive function improvement to secure Hemoheem's sustainability and 'value chain'.
In his opening remarks, Lee Kwang-jae, president of the Korea Holistic Care Association, said "Companies, government research institutes, and academia will expand the cooperative ecosystem of new technology development and extending healthy human lifespan, and as a representative example, we would like to discuss the excellence and development potential of the nation's No. 1 individual recognition type 'Hemohim' through this forum."
Lee Jong-won, vice chairman of the Korea Health Functional Food Association, said in a congratulatory speech that "Hemohim was chosen by consumers for nearly 20 years because it is excellent in function and efficacy."I hope that a second and third hemohems will come out and inform the world of the excellence of K-health in the future."
