A British woman confessed that she sleeps in anxiety because of the rare disease 'sexomnia'.

Lauren Spencer, a 50-year-old content producer and model living in Devon, England, is a so-called 'sexomnia' patient who acts sexually while asleep, according to The Sun and other foreign media. In 2021, she was diagnosed with the rare disease at a hospital after suffering from sleepwalking, severe sleep talking, and sleep sex.

After sleep sex, she said, she has no memory, so she feels anxious every time she goes to bed.

She always locks the door before she goes to bed. In particular, if you sleep at a hotel, friend, or relative's house, you have to fill the door handle with a cable-type lock and sleep.

This is because if you go outside during sleep and enter someone else's bedroom, you may have a 'unsaeng'.

She argued that her husband, who sleeps with her, does not hate this behavior.

Fortunately, these symptoms do not appear often these days.

She said "I stopped enjoying leaving home after the illness emerged" It's a shame that I don't have control, but I'm glad I'm living alone with my husband at the moment."

Meanwhile, according to the International Sleep Organization, sex somnia patients show symptoms such as self-defense, sexual movement, sexual aggression, or sexual intercourse, but the cause of the disease is not clear.

However, experts estimate that it may be related to other sleep disorders, stress, and external factors such as alcohol. Although clear treatment is difficult, it can be alleviated by medication, improved sleep hygiene, and reduced stressors.
