According to foreign media such as Shintu Daily, a Chinese Malaysian businessman 'lin (59)' was kidnapped by gunmen at 5 a.m. on the 13th of last month in a residential area in Johorbaru, Malaysia.
While trying to get to the airport by taxi, he was beaten with a club by three people wearing black masks. The gunmen also threatened the victim with a pistol and forced him into the car.
The kidnappers kept their phones at a distance to contact his family.
Since then, the kidnappers have demanded a ransom of 30 million ringgit (about 9.5 billion won), but the victim's family and acquaintances have handed over only 20 million ringgit (about 6.3 billion won).
The victim was released safely at around 12 p.m. on the same day, and the case was reported to the police at around 7 p.m.
Police investigating the case later arrested 14 suspects, including three women.
Of these, 11 were local men and women, and three were foreign men and women.
Shocking is the inclusion of the victim's wife 'Chen (57)'.
The couple, who recently celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary, have been showing off their extraordinary affection by posting photos taken together on social media.
Local police did not give details of the incident, but a series of allegations have been raised that the victim's wife was involved. If convicted, the wife could face up to 40 years in prison and face a sentence of imprisonment.
