Kim Byung-sung, Professor of Soonchunhyang University Bucheon Hospital, Appointed Next Chairman of the Korean Society of Surgeons

Professor Kim Byung-sung of orthopedic surgery at Soon Chun Hyang University Bucheon Hospital was appointed as the next chairman of the Korean Society of Surgeons at the recent Autumn Conference of the Korean Society of Surgeons. The term of office is one year from January 2026.
Since its foundation in 1982, the Korean Society of Otolaryngology has contributed to improving medical quality and health at home and abroad for more than 40 years. Currently, as many as 1,300 members are active, and they are trusted and recognized by the international medical community for their successful hosting of many international academic conferences, publication of specialized academic journals, and research results.
Kim Byung-sung, the next chairman of the board, specializes in the field of hydrothermal surgery and microsurgical surgery, and currently serves as the head of the medical department at Soonchunhyang University Bucheon Hospital. In addition, he has been active in major domestic and foreign societies such as the American Association of Surgeons, the Korean Association of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Korean Association of Postoperative Neurosurgery, the Korean Association of Arthroplasty, the Korean Association of Arthroplasty, and the Korean Association of Micro-Surgical Surgeons, as well as the Korean Association of Surgeons, contributing to the development of the medical community.
Kim Byung-sung, the next chairman of the board, said "The submersible field has a complex structure, requiring professional and high-quality treatment, and is an important medical field directly connected to the daily life of modern people. It is a great honor to serve as the next chairman of the Korean Society of Underwater Surgeons with a 40-year history, and we will do our best to cooperate with the association's executives and members to promote academic development and contribute to the promotion of human health" he said.
