Lee Jae-hyeop, head of Seoul Boramae Hospital, elected as new chairman of the Korean Society of Biomaterials

Lee Jae-hyeop, president of Boramae Hospital in Seoul, was elected as the new chairman of the 25th Korean Society of Biomaterials and leads the conference for one year.

Lee Jae-hyeop, the new chairman, developed medical devices using biomaterials applied to actual clinical practice and was inaugurated as an expert in the field of biomedical care who wrote various patents and more than 150 international papers.

Lee Jae-hyeop graduated from Seoul National University School of Medicine and received a doctorate from Seoul National University Graduate School. He is currently a professor of orthopedic surgery at Boramae Hospital in Seoul, and is the director of Boramae Hospital. In addition, he is actively contributing in various fields, including serving as the president of the Korea Health Promotion Hospital Association and as the vice president of the Seoul Metropolitan Hospital Association.



The Korean Society of Biomaterials is an organization established by researchers engaged in research on biomaterials, which are all basic materials used for medical purposes, medical personnel who directly use them for patients, and industries related to these materials to exchange academic and technical information.

Lee Jae-hyeop's term as the new chairman of the Korean Society of Biomaterials is a total of one year from January to December 2025, and as the president of the Korean Society of Biomaterials, △Biomaterials Research (BR) will be held for academic conferences, lectures, classes, and exhibitions △ Encouragement of research and commendation of outstanding achievements △ Discovery of young researchers and research support △ International exchange of the Korea-China-Japan Society of Biomedical Sciences, etc. will be in charge of various projects.



Lee Jae-hyeop, the new chairman, will strive for the revival of related studies and technologies as the president of Korea's representative society dealing with biomaterials""Based on free academic exchanges between members, we will cultivate excellent human resources and support young researchers to play a leading role in the society."
