'National Assembly Debate on Strengthening Medical License Management' will be held on the 14th

The National Assembly Debate to Strengthen Medical License Management" will be held at 2 p.m. on the 14th in the second meeting room of the National Assembly Hall, co-hosted by Rep. Seo Mi-hwa of the Democratic Party of Korea and the Korean Medical Association (Chairman Kang Dae-sik).
Recently, as some medical professionals continue to practice despite mental illnesses such as drug addiction, dementia, and schizophrenia, there is a growing voice that the license management system needs to be improved in a way to protect public health and life by enhancing trust in medical professionals.
Regarding this debate held under such circumstances, the Korean Medical Association said "In order to determine the appropriateness of medical practice, including the reasons for disqualification of medical personnel, a thorough and accurate medical review through medical experts should be preceded. We hope that this debate will serve as a forum for discussion to establish institutional support to strengthen the self-purification of medical professionals."
Meanwhile, Yang Yong-joon, the policy director of the Korean Psychiatric Association, and Ahn Deok-sun, an honorary professor at Korea University, will be the presenters of the forum, and Jang Jae-young, a member of the Young Doctor Policy Advisory Group, Min Yang-ki, vice chairman of the Korean Neurology Association, Kim Jang-han, president of the Korean Medical Law Association, Ha Joo-hee, a monthly Chosun reporter, Lee Dong-pil, a representative lawyer at the law firm, and Oh Sang-yoon, head of the medical resource policy division of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, will attend the forum.
