Proceedings of the 3rd Robot Surgery Center Symposium at Gyeongsang National University Hospital
Nov 27, 2024
Gyeongsang National University Hospital (Hospital Director Ahn Sung-ki) Robot Surgery Center (Center Director Shin Jung-kyu) held a symposium at 4 p.m. on the 26th in the grand education room on the second floor of the joint center under the theme of 「Cancer Surgery with a Robot Surgery Machine」.
The symposium, which was held on this day, consisted of a total of two sessions, and the first part was hosted by Professor Shin Jung-kyu of the Gynecology Department of the Chairperson ▲ Latest knowledge of urology robotic surgery (Professor Choi Se-min of the Department of Urology at Kyungsang National University Hospital) ▲Robot reduction port gastrectomy (Professor Park Ji-ho of the Gastrointestinal Surgery at Kyungsang National University Hospital) ▲Robot colorectal cancer surgery (Professor Lee Jin-kwon of the Department of colorectal surgery at Changwon National University Hospital) .
In the second part, Professor Lee Young-joon of Gyeongsang National University Hospital, Professor Shin Jung-kyu of obstetrics and gynecology, Professor Park Jung-je of otolaryngology, Professor Kim Joo-yeon of endocrine surgery, and Professor Choi Se-min of urology continued to discuss the results of the robotic surgery center and shared the surgical know-how of each clinical department accumulated so far under the theme of 「My robotic surgery experience」.
Shin Jung-kyu, Director of the Center for Robot Surgery, said, "It is very rewarding to provide minimally invasive surgery, an advanced technique using robotic surgery machines to many patients in the region."The Robot Surgery Center of Gyeongsang National University Hospital will continue to conduct continuous research with each clinical department through symposiums, and will do its best to provide high-quality robotic surgery, not just quantitative growth in the number of surgeries." he said.
Meanwhile, Gyeongsang National University Hospital's Robot Surgery Center has achieved 500 robotic surgeries in October 2023, a year and 10 months after the first robotic surgery conducted by urology professor Hwajeongseok in January 2022.
