Professor Kang Hye-ryeon of Seoul National University Hospital elected president of the Korean Association for Drug Mechanics Risk Management

Kang Hye-ryeon, a professor of allergy medicine at Seoul National University Hospital, was elected as the 10th president of the Korean Society of Drug Mechanical Risk Management (KoPERM). Professor Kang was appointed as chairman at the third executive meeting held on October 24, and his term is two years from January 2025.

The Korean Society for Drug Mechanical Risk Management was established in 2007 to contribute to health promotion through safe drug use and aims to improve public health and patient safety through drug safety and epidemiological research. The society promotes research on the risk and management of drugs and conducts in-depth research through cooperation with domestic and foreign experts. In addition, research cooperation has been strengthened by sharing the latest research results and knowledge among members through academic conferences and research presentations.

Professor Kang Hye-ryeon is a professor of internal medicine at Seoul National University, leads drug safety research and system improvement as the head of the Allergy Department and Drug Safety Center at Seoul National University Hospital, and is actively working by publishing many research results in domestic and foreign journals in drug monitoring and drug allergy. In the meantime, he served as the publication director, planning director, editorial director, and editor-in-chief of the Korean Society for Drug Mechanical Risk Management, and contributed to the development of the society as the 9th senior vice president.




Professor Kang's election as chairman is expected to play an important role in further activating drug safety research and promoting patient safety in the future. In particular, Professor Kang plans to lead practical changes for drug safety and patient protection through various research projects and various domestic and foreign fields and cooperation programs within the conference.

Professor Hye-ryeon Kang (Allergy Internal Medicine) said, "(The surge in domestic and international interest in drug safety has led to an important turning point in the Korean Society of Drug Mechanical Risk Management to strengthen drug safety and promote health."We will do our best to strengthen cooperation with domestic and foreign researchers along with the executive team, and to provide practical benefits to patients, medical professionals, and even the whole nation by strengthening cooperation with domestic and foreign researchers, especially utilizing our field experience as clinicians."," he said.
