Professor Yoo Eun-sun of Ewha Womans University Seoul Hospital Wins Academic Achievement Award of the Korean Society of Pediatric Blood Oncology

Yoo Eun-sun, a professor of pediatrics at Ewha Womans University Seoul Hospital, received the Academic Achievement Award at the Fall Conference of the Korean Society of Pediatric Oncology held at the Rivera Hotel in Cheongdam on the 25th of last month.
Professor Yoo Eun-sun is an authority on the treatment of blood and cancer diseases in children and adolescents in Korea, including leukemia, malignant lymphoma, and solid cancer, and contributed to improving the treatment performance of children with cancer through intermediary research for transplantation technology and treatment using hematopoietic stem cells.
In addition, based on big data from Korea and the United States, a global research platform has been established by developing risk factors and predictive models for childhood and adolescent cancer, and research is being conducted to expand projects to prevent childhood and adolescent cancer.
The society presented the award in recognition of Professor Yoo's contribution to improving the treatment performance of children and adolescent cancer patients through multi-center clinical research and to academic development in the field of childhood blood tumors.
Professor Yoo Eun-sun said, `It is a great honor that we have been recognized by the academic development of hematologic oncology for children and adolescents in Korea and the society leading the treatment of patients.' `We will continue to contribute to the development of pediatric hematologic oncology through continuous research activities and strive to create the best treatment environment.'
Meanwhile, Professor Yoo graduated from Ewha Womans University Medical School, worked as a professor of pediatric adolescence at Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital, and is currently a professor of pediatric and adolescent department at Ewha Womans University Seoul Hospital.
In addition, he has been active in the field of pediatric blood tumors, including public relations director of the Korean Pediatric Oncology Association, external cooperation director of the Korean Pediatric Emergency Medicine Association, general director of the Korean Pediatric Hematology Oncology Association, insurance director and education director.
