The story of a father who quit smoking for 40 years to donate his kidney to his son is touching.

Recently, on the video platform 'TikTok', an article about a kidney transplant posted by Mohammad Zulkifli (27), a doctor working at a hospital in Malaysia, has been well received by netizens.

He was diagnosed with renal failure in 2020 after being tested for persistent vomiting and dizziness.




After that, he graduated from college and now works at a hospital, where he had to undergo peritoneal dialysis four times a day.

His father, Ayub Abdul Ghani, 61, could no longer bear the pain of his son.

Therefore, he decided to donate his kidney to his son.




To this end, he decided to quit smoking after 40 years.

After gradually reducing the amount of smoking, he quit smoking completely three months before transplantation.

In an interview with local media outlet Weird Kaya, Zulkifley said "My father has put a lot of effort into kidney transplants."," he said. The father said "I just wanted to do my best for my son".




The transplant performed at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital on the 20th was successful.

After the operation, the father and son are recovering, and they are planning to spend time together for a while after discharge.
