On the 17th, in the 18th Gwacheon Mayor's Cup (Hon OPEN, 2nd generation OPEN, Sanji OPEN, 1200m, ranking prize money) 'Wonpyeong Storm' (USA, 2nd generation, Sue, Brown, Rating 57, Kim Yong-jae, Maji, and Jeong Ho-ik) crossed the finish line first with rider Im Da-bin with a time of 1:12.05 to lift the first trophy of the grand race.

Gwacheon Mayor's Cup (L) was promoted to Daesang Gyeongju (L) in 2010 and celebrated its 18th anniversary this year, starting with a special race in 2005 to strengthen the ties between Gwacheon City and the Korean Horse Association. The Gwacheon Mayor's Cup (L), which competes for the two-year-old new horses, was implemented as gender OPEN and mountain OPEN for the first time this year. Unlike previous races, where only domestic mares were allowed to participate, 9 out of 11 were organized as male and 10 as foreign horses, drawing more attention.

In particular, 'Maitineo', which works with the rider Moon Se-young for the first time, and 'FinalK', which has a good pedigree balance, won a great victory by 13 horse races in the last race, drawing great attention from many horse racing fans and becoming popular.

As it is a 1,200-meter sprint for young horses with little experience in winning, the starting gate was opened amid the expectation of a fast pace mixed race. At the same time as the start, 'Gwanaksan Storm' took the lead with quick quickness, followed closely by 'FinalK' and 'Long Run Unbeatable' to compete for the top spot.

There were signs of cataclysmic change in the rankings along with the entry into straight-line stocks. 'Wonpyeong Storm', which was racing behind, succeeded in the draw, boasting a large horse body and a wide range from 300m of the finish line. He crossed the finish line with a fast time of 1:12.5 by beating 'Finalkei' and 'Maitineo', who won big in the last race, with a comfortable four-horse race.

As a result, 'Wonpyeong Storm' took the first title of Daesang Racing and 'Gwacheon Mayor's Cup (L)' first foreign horse and water horse title together. With this race victory, 'Wonpyeong Storm' became a rising star horse prospect and once again imprinted a sprint powerhouse among horse racing fans. Kim Yong-jae, famous for his 'Wonpyeong' series, won 30 games, Jeong Ho-ik, an assistant teacher, won 614 games and the fourth Daesang race, and Lim Da-bin, a jockey, won 125 games and won the Daesang race for the first time.

Teacher Jeong Ho-ik, who won the fourth grand prize race, said, `I was able to win because Lim Da-bin ran the race as planned"I would like to thank you for your active support, the Mabang family for your hard work, and the horse racing fans who always support me," he said.

In an interview right after the race, Lim Da-bin, who won the first Grand Prix, said, `Even though it was a bad gate number, I was able to win the race because 'Wonpyeong Storm'd developed the race calmly, and it was very helpful to run a practice run so as not to leave a big gap in the race.'"I'm very happy to win my first championship in the Daesang race in my fifth year since my debut, and I'm able to come here because of the fans who always support me."I thanked the horse racing fans.

The 18th Gwacheon Mayor's Cup, which cost 200 million won in total prize money, gathered about 25,000 spectators to cheer. The 7th race in Seoul, which was held as Gwacheon Mayor's Cup, recorded sales of about 3.47 billion won, with a dividend rate of 8.5 times for single wins and 12.5 times and 33.9 times for Bok Seung-sik and Ssang Seung-sik, respectively.
