It has been claimed that the Russian military has recorded 700,000 casualties in Ukraine since the February 2022 invasion.

Citing the Ukrainian government's announcement on the 4th, the Ukrainian media Kyiv Independent reported that the loss of Russian troops exceeded 700,000. It has been 77 days since 600,000 casualties were recorded.

It also said the number of Russian casualties had surged in recent months, with an average of 1,307 casualties per day in October. The figures include the dead, injured, missing and captives.

However, Russia's tactic of putting troops into battle-hardened places, so-called 'meat grinders', seems to be working.

Bloomberg News explained that Russia secured the largest area of Ukrainian territory in 2024 last week.

As the loss of troops increased, Russia released an updated manual on how to dig wartime group graves on the 2nd (local time).

Russia also said it would draft 133,000 men between October and January next year.

All healthy Russian men between the ages of 18 and 30 are eligible for conscription and must serve for one year if conscripted.

Meanwhile, Russia announced a mobilization order for an all-out war against Ukraine in September 2022, and 261,000 people are said to have escaped since then.
