Seoul National University Hospital 'Joint Briefing on BioHealth Excellent Technology'Promotion of Technology Commercialization
Nov 22, 2024
Seoul National University Hospital completed the "2024 Consortium Excellent Technology Performance Exchange Meeting & Partnering Event" at the Healthcare Innovation Park at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital on the 21st. It introduced the health care technology discovered by the consortium to healthcare companies and held a meeting to explore opportunities for technology transfer, commercialization, and follow-up joint research.
In April, Seoul National University Hospital formed a consortium with Bundang Seoul National University Hospital and Kyungpook National University's Industry-Academic Research Group and was selected as an organization to support the technical commercialization platform linking biohealth clinical sites in 2024. This project is worth about 360 million won per consortium by the Korea Health Industry Promotion Agency to support the discovery of excellent technologies in the health care sector, technology marketing, and technology transfer and commercialization.
Based on the research capabilities of each institution, the Seoul National University Hospital consortium selects three major research fields (regenerative medical, precision medical, and medical robots) and continues to cooperate in ▲ discovering excellent technology and upgrading ▲ finding demanding companies ▲ technology marketing ▲ technology commercialization and start-up support. As a result, 77 promising technology discoveries, 54 technology discoveries, and 11 technology commercialization collaborations have been achieved so far.
The event was held to share innovative health care technologies and ideas discovered by the consortium and to create joint technology commercialization results. In particular, the consortium introduced excellent technologies selected by the consortium to 170 officials from 38 healthcare companies to expand opportunities for technology commercialization. Seven technologies have been announced, including 'Higher and lower extremity rehabilitation robot rehabilitation status monitoring and evaluation method', 'AI-based biosignal monitoring technology', and 'Dry Eye Treatment targeting Mybom gland', and 12 technologies have been exhibited to introduce a total of 19 technologies.
In the last order of the event, a business meeting was arranged to provide in-depth technical consultation and consulting based on 1:1 matching between researchers and demanding companies. A total of 19 teams participated in the meeting to conduct customized technology marketing for demand companies.
In addition, ▲ Seminar on Technology Commercialization Strategy (Strategy to Utilize Intellectual Property Management) ▲ Announcement of Best Start-up Cases ▲ National R&D Project Guide was conducted.
"This event was a great opportunity to gather data on the devices being developed by the company and find collaborative models," a healthcare company official said. "Especially through case presentations and partnering meetings, we were able to help a lot with networking and apply for follow-up meetings."
"Starting with this joint technical briefing session, the Seoul National University Hospital Technology Commercialization Consortium will continue to discover R&D projects linked to corporate participation," said Kim Young-tae, head of the hospital. "As a national central hospital, we will provide direct benefits to patients and actively support the commercialization of technology linked to clinical sites for the development of the bio-health sector, which is a core industry."
