Sightseeing Bio selects a task for the government's material parts technology development project 'Run Together'

Nov 20, 2024

Gaze Biomaterials (hereinafter referred to as Gaze Bio), a company specializing in dielectric-based molecular diagnosis, announced that it has been selected as a participant in the 2024 Material Parts Technology Development Project 'Run Together' project supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (Specialized Agency: Korea Institute of Industrial Technology Planning and Evaluation (CEO Jeon Yoon-jong).

'Run Together' task is a joint promotion program of the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Science and Technology, and Ministry of SMEs and Startups that discovers tasks that can simultaneously promote basic and source research and applied development to derive results. The project is focused on increasing the global competitiveness of the domestic manufacturing industry, reducing the dependence on overseas materials, and supporting the development of materials and parts technology to advance technology and preoccupy future markets.

This project will be carried out in cooperation with co-participating companies Einocle (co-representatives Jeong Hyeon-woo and Choi Sung-kyun). Einocle is a company with the highest level of technology in Korea in the field of single-cell spatial omics analysis.

With five years of support in this project, ShiNami Bio will carry out the task of 'Development of Material-Parts-Based Technology and Immunotherapy Application Technology to Secure Competitiveness in the Space Omix Industry'. The project will involve a total of 18.1 billion won in government research and development over 54 months. As a central institution in the development of analytical materials for spatial multi-omics analysis, Gisaeng Bio is developing target proteins, transcripts, dielectrics, and epigenetic probe materials. In addition, through the advancement of artificial nucleic acid-based signal amplification technology, materials that can amplify general-purpose signals will be discovered to enable spatial information analysis.

Spatial omics analysis has become an important tool that enables customized treatment based on individual patients' genetic and physiological characteristics in the vision of gaze bio, "Precision Medical Realization". This analytical technique is essential for understanding cell-to-cell interactions and molecular contexts, and contributes to elucidating the pathogenesis and therapeutic response of specific diseases. Therefore, spatial omics are expected to play a key role in accelerating the advancement of precision medicine and establishing more effective and personalized treatment strategies.

"This task will be an important milestone for the realization of precision medical care," said Park Hee-kyung, CEO of Gisaeng Bio. "I think it is an opportunity to prove that the self-developed water-soluble artificial nucleic acid is a material with both biological suitability and business feasibility in target substance probe and signal amplification among the various stages of spatial omics analysis.

" He then added "We are very pleased to contribute to the successful execution of this task to establish the position of domestic technology among foreign companies leading the spatial omics market."
