Indonesia is known to make fish milk and use it for school meals.

According to foreign media such as the New York Post, fishermen catch a fish called 'ponyfish (ponyfish)' off the coast of Indramayushi, Indonesia, and deliver it to the factory.

Processing plants separate thorns and break down fish flesh to dry and protein-rich powders.

It is then moved to another factory and flavored with strawberry or chocolate flavoring.

Adding an appropriate amount of water to this powder results in the so-called 'fish milk'.

"At least to me, it just tastes like regular milk," said the manager of the milk manufacturer 'Verican Protein Initiative', which began distribution last year.

This fish milk is expected to be included in the menu of the school lunch program.

Local media outlets say fish milk is being promoted as a good source of protein", he explained.

Experts expect the expansion of fish milk supply to lead to an industry worth $4.5 billion (about 6.31 trillion won) and create 200,000 jobs,

One research institute emphasized that "In Indonesia, cattle are scarce, but fisheries resources are abundant" and that "fish milk is an alternative to addressing the shortage of cows producing milk.'

However, some nutritional experts are negative in that it is an ultra-processed food mixed with sugar and artificial sweeteners.
