Soonchunhyang University Cheonan Hospital strengthens proper use of antibiotics and resistance management

Cheonan Hospital (Hospital Director Lee Moon-soo) affiliated with Soonchunhyang University recently announced that it has strengthened its antibiotic resistance management activities in accordance with the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's selection of 'Antibiotic Appropriate Use Management Pilot Project'.

The activities strengthened by Soonchunhyang University Cheonan Hospital for proper use of antibiotics and resistance management are the 'Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP)'.

It is an activity in which a professional management team consisting of doctors and pharmacists thoroughly mediates and manages the antibiotic prescription process to reduce inappropriate antibiotic use.



Hospital Director Lee Moon-soo said, `The specialized team is striving to reduce the resistance rate by reviewing the appropriateness of antibiotic selection, prescription days, and dosage, as well as approving and limiting the use of specific antibiotics.'
