A man in China had a 15-cm-long bamboo stuck in his eye and underwent surgery to remove it.

According to Chinese media such as Sohu.C., Chen, who lives in Huizhou, Guangdong Province, recently collided with a truck in front of him while driving a small train while avoiding rain pouring into an umbrella.

At that time, the truck was full of bamboo poles.

Chen, who failed to brake in time, had an accident in which a 15cm long bamboo stuck in the snow.

The broken bamboo was inserted directly into the orbital and skull, causing serious penetration injuries.

He was rushed to Sun Yat-sen University Hospital and was in serious condition. It was because the bamboo was pressing against the nerves.

In addition, because the bamboo itself is sharp and brittle, the medical staff could not pull it out prematurely.

The hospital's medical staff immediately formed a multidisciplinary team consisting of vascular surgery, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, and anesthesiologists to perform removal surgery.

The medical team was able to remove the bamboo safely after hours of surgery.

The medical staff said there was no miraculous damage to both the blood vessels and nerves"It was a difficult operation, but it was completed without any problems." Chen, who is in hospital treatment, is recovering his health.
