Two days before the College Scholastic Ability Test, blood cancer test takers, "If you can't avoid it, you should enjoy it."

Two days before the college entrance exam, a testee who was diagnosed with blood cancer and needs inpatient treatment is taking the exam on November 14 at a test site in the hospitalization room of the Catholic University of Korea's Seoul St. Mary's Hospital. This is the result of trying my dream without giving up the test I prepared for two years to enter the university I wanted.
Ga-eun (pseudonym), a female student who usually stayed healthy, recently visited Seoul St. Mary's Hospital after seeing a doctor at a local hospital because her cough did not stop and she thought she would have to go to a large hospital. As a result of imaging, a tumor was seen in the mediastinum, the space between the left and right lungs, and a biopsy was performed, and as a result of the examination, it was diagnosed as mediastinal lymphoma. Lymphoma is the most common hematoma in Korea, and it is a tumor in which lymphocytes in lymphatic tissue turn malignant.
Ga-eun wanted to take the test this year because she was interested in languages such as English and Spanish, so she prepared for another year after graduating from high school to go to a university specialized in foreign language education. However, due to the risk of infection, the range that medical staff can allow was a one-day outing, and it was not possible to go from Seoul to Gyeongsangnam-do, home.
After experiencing the unfortunate situation of having to give up the intensely prepared test following a sudden cancer diagnosis, nurse Yoon Sun-hee of the ward said in a patient interview, "'If I don't take the test, I think I'll lose hope, so I hope I can take the test as my daughter wishes.'The story of his guardian was memorable. "There will be hope that you will go to college only when you take the CSAT, and it will have a positive effect on the overall treatment process thereafter." recalled that there was a patient who had taken the CSAT at the hospital a few years ago.
Through inquiries from related departments and cooperation from the Office of Education, preparations for the test site for Ga-eun began. To meet the standards required by the Office of Education, the hospital carried out administrative procedures, including preparing an independent room space for inpatients, who are test takers, to take the test, and a special room on the 21st floor with a conference room and lounge where test supervisors can prepare and wait for the test.
The medical staff adjusted the schedule so that Ga-eun could be treated immediately after the SAT exam. Since chemotherapy can be physically difficult when it begins, we did our best to maintain our best health until the CSAT. Professor Min Ki-jun of the Department of Hematology at his doctor's office said, `Even healthy test takers are under great stress, but I support Ga Eun who tries to achieve her dream even in a difficult situation"I hope you will finish your treatment well after the test and become a healthy freshman at the university you want."
Mother Ga-eun "Thank you for being able to take the CSAT with the active help of the medical staff and the hospital who cared for the future of the child, and as the nuns came and prayed, I hope they will be discharged healthy after treatment and go to the school they want."."
Ga-eun, who usually lived faithfully at every moment with the mind of 'Enjoy if you can't avoid it', said that one of the things she wants to do most after entering university is 'I want to go to a performance at the university festival'
