According to Chinese media such as China Dotcom, a man named Zhou, who lives in Henan Province, recently filed a lawsuit with a court in Jashen County, months after marrying a woman seven years older.
He married his wife, whom he met by introduction in September last year, two months later.
Ahead of his marriage, he sent about 50,000 yuan (about 9.63 million won) to his wife's family for the bride.
After the wedding, he found his wife's mental state strange.
After inquiring, I found out that my wife was suffering from schizophrenia before marriage.
There was also a fact that his wife had undergone uterine extraction surgery.
Zhou claimed invalidity of the marriage, saying his wife and family deliberately hid the premarital disease.
In a recent first trial, the court accepted Zhou's request.
The Tribunal shall inform the other party truthfully before filing the marriage registration if he/she is seriously ill or has had a past illness", concluding that the marriage was invalid.
