Four people died and one barely survived a Tesla electric car fire in Canada.

According to local media such as the Toronto Star, a fire broke out on the 24th (local time) after a Tesla electric vehicle Model Y driving on Don Roadway in Ontario, Canada, collided with a guardrail and a concrete pillar one after another.

There were five people in the vehicle, but with the help of another driver, only a woman A (25) survived and all four passengers in their 20s died.

"As soon as I saw the car in flames, I pulled up and ran with a fire extinguisher," said Rick Harper, a post office worker who rescued A at the time. "When I saw a woman banging on a window with her hand in a smoke-filled vehicle, I brought an iron pipe and broke the window. " He managed to pull out A and had to stay away from the vehicle due to the fire.

A, who was shaking in fear, collapsed on the floor without saying anything.

Rick also blamed himself, saying, `I heard a minute voice when I took the woman out, but the fire spread so hard that I couldn't check if there was anyone else in the vehicle.'

The police are investigating the exact cause of the accident.

On the other hand, the button to open the door does not work when a fire breaks out or electricity is cut off. It has to be opened manually, but in the case of Tesla, it's on the handle side of the front seat and the rear seat is embedded with a manual opening and closing device, so it's hard to see.

The automobile industry claims that it would not have been easy to open the door and escape if the driver and passenger of the accident vehicle did not know the location of the manual opening and closing device or were unable to see well due to smoke.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), nine investigations are being conducted in connection with the Tesla Model Y, the same vehicle as the disaster. The survey also includes 'unexpected brake application', 'unintended sudden acceleration'.
