A U.N. report said that a woman and a girl are killed by an intimate person or family every 10 minutes.

On the 25th, the United Nations Women's Organization and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) released a report on estimates of the murder of women worldwide by partners or families in 2023 in commemoration of 'World Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women'.

According to the report, 85,000 women and girls were killed on purpose worldwide in 2023, of which 51,100 (60%) were committed by intimate partners or families such as lovers.

This means that 140 women and girls lose their lives at the hands of their partners or close relatives every day.

In response to the report, the U.N. Women's Organization said "The killing of women represents the most extreme manifestation of gender-based violence against women and girls. These killings are often not isolated incidents but the culmination of existing gender-based violence affecting all regions and countries around the world "In general, murders of women and girls are committed in various settings in the private realm and beyond, with gender-related motives. Those motives are rooted in social norms and stereotypes that regard women as subordinate to men, as well as discrimination against women and girls, inequality, and unequal power relations between women and men in society", he pointed out.

In addition, a Korean woman's phone also performed a performance of 192 pairs of shoes and 192 flowers together in front of Bosingak in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

The group claimed at the event that `192 women and people around them were killed by men with close relationships last year, and 17 of them were not protected even though they reported them to the police.'

According to a report released by a Korean woman's phone on the analysis of femicide by a male partner in an intimate relationship seen through media reports, 1,672 women and those around them were killed by men in an intimate relationship over the past 15 years (2009-2023).
