Yongin Severance Hospital Opens 'International Clinic' for Expedited Treatment of Foreign Patients

Yonsei University Yongin Severance Hospital (Hospital President Kim Eun-kyung) opened an international clinic for the rapid treatment of foreign patients and held an opening ceremony in front of the international clinic on the first floor on the 14th.
The opening ceremony was attended by Kim Eun-kyung, president of Yongin Severance Hospital, Kwon Yong-jin, head of the International Medical Center, and officials from Pyeongtaek U.S. Military Hospital (BDAACH), Osan MTF, and International SOS.
Yongin Severance Hospital has established an international clinic to respond to the demand for medical tourism patients with neighboring U.S. forces in Pyeongtaek and Osan. Support services are provided to foreign patients who visit through international clinics, such as quick medical appointments, delayed payment of medical expenses, and treatment, examination, and drug receipt. In the case of comprehensive health checkups for the U.S. military and its families, support for accompanying services is also planned.
The hospital plans to assign working-level personnel such as clerks and nurses to international clinics and recruit and operate volunteers who can interpret to provide smooth medical support services in the future.
Director of the hospital Kim Eun-kyung said, "We are happy to provide more effective customized medical services to foreign patients, which has been on the rise every year since the opening of the hospital. We will expand our role as the only university hospital in Yongin by attracting various international patients in the future." he said.
Meanwhile, Yongin Severance Hospital signed a business agreement with International SOS, which provides insurance services to U.S. troops around the world, to establish a medical support system for U.S. troops in Korea in October last year and provides outpatient, hospitalization and emergency treatment to U.S. soldiers and their families.
