A surgical pair of scissors has been found in the body of a woman who underwent surgery to remove a cancer tumor, shocking her.

According to local media such as News 18, a 44-year-old woman named Kamala Bhai, who lives in Bind City, Madhya Pradesh, India, underwent surgery to remove ovarian cancer tumors in February 2022.

I felt unknown abdominal pain for two years until recently.



She was prescribed medication but to no avail, so she went to another hospital and asked for a CT scan.

The medical staff who performed the CT scan at the end of last month were surprised. That she had scissors in her stomach.



It was located next to the colon, and it was presumed to be a surgical pair of scissors used to remove the tumor.

Having had immediate removal surgery, she is recovering.



The medical staff pointed out that remaining sharp objects such as scissors in the body can cause serious complications such as internal bleeding, necrosis, infection, sepsis, and death. Fortunately, she reportedly had no complications other than abdominal pain.

Kamala Bhai and her family will file a legal case against the hospital and medical staff who performed cancer surgery.

Meanwhile, it is known that there are about 1,000 cases a year in which surgical tools such as scissors, bandages, and cotton are found after surgical operations worldwide.
