Daedong Hospital acquires Grade 1 for 2 consecutive blood transfusion adequacy evaluations

Daedong Hospital (Hospital Director Lee Kwang-jae) recently announced that it has obtained the first grade for the second consecutive time in the blood transfusion adequacy evaluation (2nd round) conducted by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service.
The Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service is conducting a blood transfusion adequacy assessment to manage blood use in accordance with blood transfusion guidelines, realize appropriate blood transfusions, and secure the stability of transfusion patients.
This evaluation was conducted on medical inpatients of health insurance and medical benefits over the age of 18 who underwent hematopoietic blood cell transfusion, knee arthroplasty, and spinal posterior fixation (1 Level) at senior hospitals, general hospitals, and hospitals for six months from March to August 2023.
The evaluation was based on indicators such as the presence or absence of a blood transfusion checklist, the performance rate of non-preventive antibody screening, the blood transfusion rate according to the pre-transfusion blood test, and the average overall score of the target institution hospital was 76.3.
In this evaluation, which gave the first grade to institutions with a comprehensive score of 85 or higher, 241 out of 581 (41.5%) received the first grade, and Daedong Hospital received the first grade with a comprehensive score of 95.
Lee Kwang-jae, director of Daedong Hospital, said "As a result of thorough compliance with blood transfusion guidelines for the safety management of blood transfusion patients, the hospital was recognized as an appropriate blood transfusion hospital through this evaluation."We will continue to strive for patient safety and high-quality medical services in the future."
On the other hand, Daedong Hospital recently obtained the first grade in both the '6th Tuberculosis Appropriateness Assessment' and '9th Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease Appropriateness Assessment' conducted by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, and continues to show excellent performance.
