The Incheon Metropolitan City Emergency Medical Support Group opened at the Incheon YWCA Building in Guwol-dong, Incheon on the 3rd to strengthen cooperation with emergency medical institutions in Incheon.
Officials from related organizations, including Kim Hak-beom, director of the Incheon Metropolitan City Health and Welfare Bureau, Yoo Kyung-hee, chairman of the Incheon City Council's Cultural Welfare Committee, Nam Seok-hyun, head of the Incheon Fire Department's rescue and relief division, and Lim Jeong-soo, head of the public medical division at Gachon University Gil Hospital, attended the opening ceremony. In addition, a number of officials from local medical institutions operating emergency medical centers attended and shone.
Kim Hak-beom, director of the Incheon Metropolitan City Health and Welfare Bureau, said in a congratulatory speech, `We expect the emergency medical support group to serve as a control tower for 21 emergency medical institutions in Incheon to cooperate organically to protect the lives and health of Incheon citizens.'
The emergency medical support group plays the role of an emergency medical control tower in Incheon, and was led by Yang Hyuk-joon, a professor of emergency medicine at Gachon University Gil Hospital (director of Incheon Regional Emergency Medical Center).
The support group plays a role in developing regional transport guidelines, strengthening cooperation between hospitals, investigating emergency medical resources and visualizing data, developing and supporting emergency medical policies, and developing first aid education and medical promotion projects for citizens.
The Incheon Metropolitan City Emergency Medical Support Group will cooperate with medical institutions, fire departments, and public health centers in the region to systematically manage emergency medical services and contribute to enhancing citizens' ability to respond to emergency situations.
It also plans to expand first aid education and civic participation programs to strengthen trust in emergency medical services and raise Incheon's emergency medical level to the next level through data-based policy proposals.
Yang Hyuk-jun, head of the Incheon Metropolitan City Emergency Medical Support Group, said, "The emergency medical support group will play a pivotal role in systematically managing local emergency medical resources and providing rapid and professional emergency medical services to citizens. We will further strengthen the safety net of Incheon citizens by streamlining the emergency patient transport system and establishing data-driven policies."
