According to local media, including Channel 7, Prayun (48) was found dead on the morning of the 15th while staying in a cabin about 3km away from the village of Buriram, Thailand.
The resident who called the police said he found him lying on his stomach in a hammock installed in the cabin.
The dispatched police expected him to die of hypothermia in the suddenly cold weather, considering that he had no trauma or wounds to his body and no underlying disease. The estimated time of death was found about five hours after the previous night. However, the two dogs he had were pacing around and looking at the dead owner.
One resident said the dogs were named 'Chaobik' and 'Chaom' and had always lived with their owner Prayoun.
He added that the dogs seemed to have been around their owners to prevent other animals from accessing them.
