According to CNBC and other foreign media, Erica Krupin, 37, of Northville, Michigan, is the representative of the dog poop collection business 'Kropin's Poopin Scoopin'.
Having first established the company in August 2018, she has been running the business in earnest since February 2020. This year, the company's sales are expected to be about $250,000 (about 360 million won).
She worked dozens of jobs, including golf course bartenders, restaurant clerks, and pharmacy workers, and started her business six years ago when she was inspired to see her dog's excrement one day.
With increasing requests from customers, she quit her pharmacy job and has devoted herself to her business since 2020.
She introduced that the small initial investment amount is a big advantage.
It spent about $1,000 on initial items such as small horticultural rakes, garbage bags, gloves, dust cans, and disinfectants, business insurance, and website domains.
No additional waste disposal tools or costs are currently required because the removed dog waste is double-packed and thrown into the dog owner's outdoor trash bin.
Working hours are usually from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on five days a week. In the evenings and weekends, meetings or contracts with new customers are also held.
Cleaning costs start at $87 (about 120,000 won) four times a month. Cleaning twice a week costs $156 (about 220,000 won) and cleaning once costs $50 (about 70,000 won).
Erica, who worked alone for the first 18 months, said it now employs two people and sales are increasing every year.
