Gachon University Gil Hospital (Hospital Director Kim Woo-kyung) evaluated cancer patient-centered treatment performance for the first time by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service on the 20th, and in the results of the 2022 (two weeks are the first) colon cancer, stomach cancer, and lung cancer adequacy evaluation, all three cancers achieved grade 1 with grades significantly exceeding the overall average.

This evaluation is the first case to reflect patient-centered treatment outcomes by expanding the scope of evaluation from the existing surgery-centered to the entire treatment process. Specifically, patient-centered indicators, including multidisciplinary treatment and early surgery rates, were introduced and evaluated for colon cancer, stomach cancer, and lung cancer.

As a result of the evaluation, Gachon University Gil Hospital scored 91.80 points for colon cancer (86.68 points), 93.24 points for stomach cancer (89.41 points) and 93.94 points for lung cancer (91.09 points), all of which were superior to the overall average.




In particular, the rate of multidisciplinary treatment for cancer patients was 72.5% for colon cancer (average 27.3%), 84.9% for stomach cancer (average 22.5%), and 59.8% for lung cancer (average 30.8%).

In addition, the rate of early surgery is 99.1% (average 91.3%), 99.3% (average 84.0%), and 97.7% (average 93.2%) of lung cancer, with the majority of patients having early surgery after confirming cancer.

In addition, the composition of professional manpower received a very excellent evaluation of 100% in all three carcinomas.

Meanwhile, the evaluation period is from July 2022 to June 2023, and 165 medical institutions, including senior hospitals and general hospitals, participated. The first-grade organ ratio is 45.4% for colorectal cancer, 50.7% for gastric cancer, and 63.2% for lung cancer.
