Gyeongsang National University Hospital 7 times in a row 'Evaluation of the adequacy of coronary artery bypass surgery' First grade obtained

Gyeongsang National University Hospital (Hospital Director Ahn Sung-ki) announced by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service on the 3rd that it obtained the highest grade of 1 for 7 consecutive times.

Coronary artery bypass is one of the treatments for patients with ischemic heart diseases such as angina and acute myocardial infarction, and it is a high-level surgery that creates alternative blood vessels in narrowed or blocked heart vessels so that blood is supplied smoothly to the heart.

The Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service evaluated 92 hospitals that underwent coronary artery bypass surgery on patients hospitalized for ischemic heart disease for two years from October 2021 to September 2023.



The evaluation indicators consisted of ▲ the number of coronary artery bypass surgery ▲ the coronary artery bypass surgery rate using the endothoracic artery ▲ the antiplatelet drug prescription rate at discharge ▲ the reoperation rate due to bleeding or hematoma after surgery ▲ the readmission rate within 30 days after discharge ▲ the mortality rate within 30 days after surgery ▲ the number of hospitalization days after surgery, and Gyeongsang National University Hospital received excellent scores in all indicators and obtained the first grade. Professor Hyun-oh Park of Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery said, "We are proud to have achieved valuable results of obtaining Grade 1 for 7 consecutive times through this assessment of the adequacy of coronary artery bypass surgery."We will continue to do our best to protect the cardiovascular health of local residents."," he said.
