Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital Designated as an Emergency Medical Center in southern Gyeonggi Province

Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital (Hospital Director Han Sung-woo) was recently designated as an emergency medical center in southern Gyeonggi Province in 2024 by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The emergency medical center in the base area operates for the purpose of efficiently distributing severe emergency patients and providing final treatment quickly. The Ministry of Health and Welfare has designated a total of 23 emergency medical centers in the base area, including Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital, by evaluating the composition of manpower and medical capabilities among regional emergency medical centers.
The emergency medical center of Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital has achieved excellent results every year, ranking first among regional emergency medical centers nationwide in the 2021 emergency medical institution evaluation. It has been operating a 24-hour specialist treatment system since the beginning of its opening, and regular response training is conducted with a negative pressure isolation room and a patient classification system according to severity to respond to new infectious diseases. In addition, considering the regional characteristics of many companies dealing with chemicals near hospitals, we are making every effort to respond to chemical accidents that can cause massive casualties.
In 2020, the first high-pressure oxygen therapy in southern Gyeonggi Province was introduced to provide quick and effective treatment to patients with carbon monoxide poisoning, submersible disease, and burns that require emergency treatment.
