On the 20th, the Korea Racing Authority was honored with the grand prize in the K-Public Digital Innovation category at the '2024 Korea Regional Information Chemistry Association Winter Conference' organized by the Korea Regional Information Chemistry Association.

The conference, which was held at Andong University, presented examples of digital innovation by public institutions under the theme of 「Between Boundaries and New Horizons: Digital Redesigning for Future Korea」.

Under the theme of 'The Horse Industry Innovating with AI and Digital Technology', Horse Society presented a case of identifying horse objects and diagnosing gait abnormalities using artificial intelligence technology. This is an example of overcoming the limitations of the existing horse object identification appearance test method, which relies on the naked eye of experts. AI technology has identified specific parts of horses, automated the registration process, and expanded digital platform government policies to livestock areas. It also announced the results of proposing international standards to the UN-affiliated ITU-TSG17, working closely with domestic standards organizations such as the Korea Information and Communication Technology Association (TTA) and the Korea Biometric Council (KBID) as a strategy to respond to digital technology hegemony.

Chairman Ki-hwan Ma said, `Now that technological advancements such as AI and big data have reached an inflection point, the use of digital innovation technologies will determine the success or failure of individuals, businesses, and countries.' We will work together with the public and private sectors to find digital solutions to cope with social issues such as horse welfare in the future" he said.
