According to Thai media, including Thai media, police in Nakhon Massot, Takju, near the border between Thailand and Myanmar, recently received reports from residents that strange sounds could be heard in a remote forest. Residents claimed that strange cries had been heard in the forest since three days ago, and that the sound became louder and stronger, especially at night.
As a result, residents avoided going out at night, considered it a ghost sound, and did not go near the forest.
The dispatched police found a man in an abandoned well while patrolling the forest.
Police and rescuers rescued a man trapped at the bottom of a 12-meter-deep dry well.
The man had a fractured left wrist, symptoms of concussion, and was in a debilitating state with bruises all over his body.
He was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.
The man, named Liu Chan, 22, is Chinese and was presumed to have accidentally fallen into a well without a lid while walking through the forest.
Police are investigating why he wandered near the border.
He said in an interpreter that he had been trapped in a well for three days without food or water and asked for help only once an hour to save his physical strength.
The police closed the well with a cover to prevent a similar accident.
