Catholic Kwandong University International St. Mary's Hospital recently announced that it has obtained the first grade in the first evaluation of colorectal, stomach, and lung cancer in the second cycle conducted by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service.
This second cycle cancer adequacy assessment was conducted from July 2022 to June 2023 for hospitalized patients over the age of 18 who were treated for primary colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, and lung cancer.
The Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service improved the evaluation index by reflecting changes in the medical environment, such as the development of cancer treatment and the increase in survivors after cancer surgery. In particular, this evaluation was reorganized into a patient-centered and treatment performance-centered '2nd cycle cancer evaluation'.
In the overall score, St. Mary's Hospital received the first grade in all fields with ▲ 92.41 points for colon cancer (85.68 points overall and 82.93 points for species) ▲ 91.27 points for gastric cancer (89.41 points overall and 87.5 points for species) ▲ 91.63 points for lung cancer (91.09 points overall and 90.65 points for species).
"We are very happy to be recognized for our excellent cancer treatment capabilities through this cancer adequacy evaluation," said Father Kim Hyun-soo, president of the hospital. "We will continue to be a university hospital that puts patient health first and does our best to strengthen cancer treatment capabilities."
