Korean Society of Osteoporosis Promote Golden Time Releases Campaign Song
Dec 19, 2024
The Korean Society of Osteoporosis History (Chairman Kim Nak-sung, Chairman Baek Ki-hyun) unveiled a 'Keep Golden Time' campaign song as part of the 2024 campaign to improve osteoporosis disease awareness.
As a bone-related research society, the Korean Academy of Bone Metabolism is striving to study and treat musculoskeletal metabolic diseases, including osteoporosis and sarcopenia, and has been conducting a '骨 (骨)' campaign' for 7 years since 2018 to improve osteoporosis disease awareness.
Osteoporosis is a systemic skeletal disease characterized by a decrease in bone density and abnormal microstructure, and once a fracture occurs, the risk of re-fracture increases by 2 to 10 times.
According to the Korean Society of Osteoporosis and Osteoporosis Fracture Fact Sheet (2023)', the total incidence of osteoporosis fractures was 434,470 in 2022, an increase of 346.2% compared to 97,380 in 2002, and the average annual growth rate was 7.8%. The predominantly occurred osteoporosis fracture site is 'wrist and ankle' in the 5060 age group, and the incidence of vertebral and hip fractures increases with age.
The Korean Society of Osteoporosis opened a YouTube channel in 2020 to promote the seriousness of rapidly increasing osteoporosis, and continues to explain medical information about osteoporosis in an easy-to-understand manner through series videos such as 『Bone Question Season 1: Knowing Osteoporosis Right away』 and 『Bone Question Season 2: Osteoporosis Management Practice』.
This year, by releasing the 'Keep Golden Time' campaign song, we deliver the message of managing osteoporosis and preventing fractures through bone density T-scores in a friendly and lively manner.
The bone density T-score', which can be confirmed through the bone density test, is an indicator of bone health, and evaluates how much bone mass has decreased compared to the bone density of a normal person with strong bones. The song lyrics contain the importance of bone density T-scores and the need for constant management through regular checkups. In particular, specialists from the Korean Society of Osteopathic History participated in the lyrics and added meaning.
In addition, the Korean Society of Osteopathic History released a music video for the campaign song through the association's YouTube channel.
The choreography of the music video is based on the three-sepan exercise developed by the Korean Society of Osteoporosis and the prevention of falls, and contains exercise movements that women in their 50s and 70s can easily follow along to the song.
Three-segmental exercise consists of muscle strength, power, and balance exercises to strengthen bones and improve muscle strength and balance ability to reduce the risk of falling. Depending on the participant's physical condition and physical strength level, it has the advantage of being able to select an exercise suitable for the individual by dividing it into a chair stage, an easy stage, and an intermediate stage.
In particular, it helps maintain muscle and bone density in women in their 50s or older, and is effective in preventing falls and maintaining balance in the elderly and osteoporosis patients.
Chairman Baek Ki-hyun of the Korean Society of Osteopathic History (Professor of Endocrinology at Yeouido St. Mary's Hospital, Catholic University) "Keep Golden Time" campaign song was produced to convey the importance of bone health, which can be difficult and hard, to our people in a fun and friendly way"I hope you understand the importance of bone (骨) time before bone components are released, and help form a health culture that self-manages bone density T-scores."
The Korean Society of Osteopathic History will actively use the music video for the campaign song 'Keep Golden Time' in the offline education field. In addition, in order to support the heavy weight, the giraffe with a strong skeleton structure will be appointed as a character representing the society 'Dr. Bonnie' to raise public awareness of osteoporosis and to promote the importance of prevention and management.
