Lee Woo-in, president of Gangdong Kyunghee University Hospital, inaugurated as new president of the Korean Society of Diagnostic Blood

Director Lee Woo-in (Professor of the Department of Diagnostic Laboratory Medicine) of Gangdong Kyunghee University Hospital was elected as the president of the Korean Society of Diagnostic Blood and will be inaugurated on January 1, 2025. The term of office is one year until the end of 2025.
The Korean Society of Diagnostic Blood began as a diagnostic blood research group in 2001 and was established as a formal society in 2006. Domestic diagnostic test medical specialists have gathered to continue various medical and academic studies for the standardization and development of diagnostic blood tests. Efforts are being made to provide more accurate and effective test results to patients in the clinical field, contributing to the promotion of public health through this.
Director Lee Woo-in is a professor of diagnostic laboratory medicine at Gangdong Kyunghee University Hospital, graduated from Kyunghee University School of Medicine and obtained a doctorate in medicine from the graduate school of the same university. He worked at Samsung Medical Center and Kyung Hee Medical Center and trained at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. At Gangdong Kyunghee University Hospital, he has served in major positions such as the head of the diagnostic test and medicine department, the head of infection control, and the head of proper management, and took office as the director in November last year.
Director Lee Woo-in is the first female director of Kyung Hee University Medical Institution, and since taking office, she has achieved normalization of treatment and management at Gangdong Kyunghee University Hospital by demonstrating strong leadership and drive with all employees despite difficult medical conditions and confusion due to legislative conflicts.
He was also active externally, serving as a training director, special director of the foundation, and member of the ISO Promotion Committee at the Korean Society of Diagnostic Testing and Medicine, as well as a member of the operating committee and judge of the Korea Institute of Genetic Testing and Evaluation, the head of the business division of the Korea Blood Society, the head of the evaluation department of the Korea Foundation, and the member of the publication and public relations committee of the Korea Institute of Quality Control.
Currently, he is a member of the Hospital Evaluation Committee of the Korean Hospital Association, a director of the Korean Hospital Association, a chairman of the Laboratory Confidence Committee of the Korean Diagnostic Laboratory, and an auditor of the Korean Diagnostic Genetic Society.
