Lotte is leading innovation management by strengthening its competitiveness in the global market based on AI technology. While maximizing the efficiency of existing businesses through data analysis and automation technology using AI, it is securing future growth engines by introducing new business models. It is accelerating its entry into major overseas business markets such as Asia, Europe, and North America, and is creating new growth opportunities by combining localization strategies and advanced technologies. At the same time, it is diversifying its portfolio into new business areas such as bio and metaverse, shifting away from existing central businesses and toward a sustainable management system.
First, Lotte Innovate introduced a new version of 'I Member 2.0' that improved the performance and function of Lotte Group's own AI platform 'Aimeber' in August. iMember 2.0 underwent changes such as reorganization of user screen (UI) and user experience (UX) and reorganization of menu centered on function.
Daehong Planning introduced the marketing-only all-in-one AI system 'AI Marketing System (AIMS)' to all Lotte Group affiliates. Based on artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud technology, AMS provides 87 customized functions on one platform, including research and data analysis, advertising content production, advertising media strategy and execution, marketing insights derivation, and strategy suggestions.
Lotte Distribution Group is adding innovative elements to its overall work by applying AI in various ways. Lotte Department Store's 'AI Interpretation Service', Lotte Mart and Super opened 'AI Screening System' to help advance fruit quality management, and Lotte Home Shopping opened an AI chatbot 'Belligunggumi'.
Lotte Food Group is also exploring its entry into Africa, which is emerging as a market for sustainable growth and blue ocean. In October, the 'Sustainable Cacao Bean Project' was carried out in Ghana, Africa, and recently set Lotte Corporation and 'Pero' as strategic products, and plans to stably settle 'Pero' products in India, which has a confectionery market worth about 17 trillion won, to foster it as a global brand. Lotte GRS established a 'LOTTEGRS USA' corporation in Delaware, USA, in October last year. It is the second overseas base after the Vietnamese subsidiary, and its goal is to open its first Lotteria store in the United States in 2025.
Lotte Distribution Group is focusing on expanding its global customers by continuing its growth in the Southeast Asian market. Opened in September last year, 'Lotte Mall Westlake Hanoi' achieved 200 billion won in cumulative sales in five months after its opening and 10 million people visited it in one year, becoming a landmark in Vietnam.
In July, Lotte Biologics held a groundbreaking ceremony for its first bio-campus plant in Songdo International City, Incheon, spurring the transformation of its portfolio to foster a new growth engine theme. It plans to build three mega plants in Songdo, Incheon by 2030 and have a total production scale of 360,000 liters of antibody drugs in Korea Through this, the policy is to have a global level of competitiveness in biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
Lotte Innovate and its subsidiary EVSIS have formalized their entry into the North American EV charging infrastructure market by establishing a local U.S. corporation 'EVSIS America'. In addition, EVSys completed a new plant in Cheongju, a smart factory equipped with automation facilities. With the completion of the new plant, production capacity has more than doubled, enabling the production of about 20,000 electric vehicle chargers per year. It plans to gradually expand charging bases in areas adjacent to the city center by establishing electric vehicle charging infrastructure in business areas such as distribution, hotels, and services of Lotte Group.
