According to local media, including the Hindustan Times, Anand Yadav, a 35-year-old man in Chhattisgarh, India, collapsed at home after taking a bath on the 14th.
The family complained of dizziness before he fainted and immediately rushed him to the hospital, but he died on arrival.
A post-mortem examination was conducted to determine the cause of death and found a living chick about 20 cm long embedded in his neck.
Medical staff found that the chick blocked the airway and esophagus in a 'U shape, causing asphyxia.
The forensic expert who conducted the autopsy said "This is the first time in my life."
Residents said his death was linked to a superstitious ritual.
