Dec 16, 2024
Professor Ahn Cheol-woo (endocrine medicine) of Yonsei University Gangnam Severance Hospital published a book "immortal hormone".
The chemical that transmits bio-signals, 'hormones', is in charge of all things in our body. Hormones are present in all areas that the human body must do on its own, from growth, basic metabolism, protein synthesis, lipolysis, free oxygen removal and immunity, pregnancy, childbirth, lactation, stress coping, and emotional regulation, as well as the role of the biological clock to control body temperature, appetite, sexual desire, and sleep. In addition, hormones affect our health conditions, psychological conditions, moods, personalities, and the way we love each other.
Professor Ahn Cheol-woo, the author, is a specialist in studying and dealing with hormones. He leads the Endocrine and Diabetes Center at Gangnam Severance Hospital and Yonsei University's Angiometabolic Aging Research Center to treat endocrine diseases such as diabetes and metabolic syndrome. Above all, in order to introduce hormones to the public in an easy-to-understand and familiar way, they are engaged in various activities such as broadcast appearances, column contributions, and book writings.
In the new book 『Immortal Hormones』, Professor Ahn introduces important hormones in each period by dividing a person's life cycle into significant development (0-10), maturity (20-30s), well-aging (40-50s), and re-leap (60-80s). In the book, the world of hormones that govern our body's metabolism, growth, and emotions, such as testosterone, estrogen, dopamine, oxytonin, serotonin, cortisol, and insulin, is easily solved by the public.
The main contents of the book include ▲ the key role of major hormones ▲ problems that occur when major hormones are excessive or insufficient and diseases ▲ medical treatments for them. In addition to a humanities story that combines knowledge and common sense related to major hormones, it also provides advice that can be practiced in everyday life such as eating habits and exercise.
Professor Ahn Cheol-woo said, `Eating well and resting well while working hard, laughing a lot and loving a lot is the way to manage hormones well. Therefore, taking good care of hormones is taking good care of life.'"I hope this book will serve as an opportunity to see hormones, health, and the secret to living a long and happy life.'
